If you have any history at all with fishing, you probably have some names in mind that you automatically associate with the sport. The Global dorbeR Group is not one of them. But we are new to the fishing tackle industry in name only. We are a small group of business people who happen to love to fish, and we've been around fishing and the fishing tackle industry a long time(some of us for longer than we care to think about). We like fishing for the effect that it has on our lives. Sometimes we dislike the fishing tackle industry for the same reasons.

We've been around for all the revolutions over the past fifty years, from steel, sticks and bamboo to solid fiberglass. From solid glass to tubular glass. And finally from glass to graphite. We've seen players enter and exit the graphite game quickly. We've seen them move from location to location, name to name, trying to make a quick buck and get out. We've also seen the people who have made outstanding advances in technology stick out the problems and the setbacks to build fishing tackle that is more productive and "user friendly" than anyone ever dreamed possible fifty years ago.

But, as with all other product advances, it seems that with each step forward technologically there is a geometric step up in price. This is understandable to a degree. We in the industry have taken a lot of chances. Improvement does not happen without risk. But, at times, we have had the tendency to expect more for the risk than it was actually worth.

So, with our product offerings we are hoping to sort of reinvent the wheel. What made industry great in the United States for the first half of the 20th century was the philosophy of giving a man a great value for his money. What we feel has been the demise of industry in the United States, is the demise of this philosophy. We adopted the "every man for himself" attitude, or "whatever the traffic will bear". It is our sincere hope that we can reinvent the idea of giving our customers the satisfaction they deserve by placing their trust in our products.

We don't feel that you must pay as much as $500 or more for a good rod. We are aware that there is a considerable mystique in doing so. But we wondered what we could sell a comparable rod for once we cut out the bells and whistles, the middle men who make money taking products in one door and shipping them out another and, finally the mystique. The brand name. In many cases we pay more for our purchases simply because they have a certain name. We all know it. We all do it. We're used to doing it. We've done it so long we don't even realize it any more.

What we came up with are three series of rods. Just like most everyone else. There are entry level, midrange, and high end. Just like most everyone else. But, unlike everyone else, these sell for around $350 or less. We believe they're just as pretty, just as functional and just as durable (maybe more) as most everyone else's. There's really no way to say ours is better. And we won't do that. But we can say they are just as good. Because the folks that make rods for them, make rods for us.

So we're trying to reinvent the wheel. We're trying to make people believe that industry can truly give customers a value for their buck. At least this industry can. It's our philosophy. It's what we live by. We would like to expect it too. We believe it so deeply that if you can find the products we offer somewhere else for less money, we'll buy ours back. No matter how long you've had it. No questions. No problem. Not ever.
